Jackson has learned to color this week. And that is pretty much all he has done. Since he was about 6 months old I have been buying markers, crayons, paints, paper, etc. in anticipation of this day. Up until this week, we've broken out the art supplies on a semi regular basis, but he hasn't been interested in them, unless, by interested, you meaning eating said art supplies. But while over at Sara's house this week he put pen to paper, and, as they say, the rest is history.
He knows where all of the supplies are kept so first thing after breakfast he will say "hent" (meaning he wants you to take his hand) and he will lead you into the closet and say "hep, hep, hep" (he's not a hipster baby, that's just him saying help), while pointing at said art supplies. Any resistance he meets will be met with a full fledged breakdown.
We have the colorwonder markers and colorwonder paper, so it's nice not having to worry about him drawing on everything. He is content to sit there for up to an hour at a time happily scribbling away. It's also pretty cool because we've been able to start working on colors.
