Well Jackson has had his second New Years. We celebrated the day by renting some movies and vegging out and pigging out. Speaking of pigging out, Jackson has entered the picky eater stage, which I've read, generally last the rest of childhood. Today, for instance, he ate a banana, some dried cranberries, a glass of strawberry milk, some goldfish crackers and one piece of pizza. I guess it sounds like more than it felt like he ate all day. It gets very frustrating cooking a meal for a toddler who goes around shouting "food food food, eat eat eat, bite bite bite" then immediately throws whatever you give him on the floor. I try not to get to stressed out about it and know that he will eat what he wants when he wants. However, I can not remember the last time he had a vegetable that wasn't fried.
Jackson hates shopping....well, he likes being in stores, out of the house, but actually needing to accomplish anything, he isn't very agreeable too. From the time we enter a store I have roughly 30 minutes to get everything I need, check out, and get back to the car before a major meltdown ensues. Needless to say Jackson doesn't go on very many shopping trips with us.
He is talking up a storm. His favorite words are "train" "truck" "cars" "fish" and oddly enough, "Sara" (that's his babysitter). Seems like he is adjusting to having a working mommy just fine.
He is regularly sleeping around 12 hours a night in a row. Which, as I am typing this, means that tomorrow morning he will likely be up at some ungodly hour. But it has certainly been nice getting a full nights sleep again.
